Watching trashy ‘reality’ TV shows makes me feel disgusting. On many levels. You know what I mean?

Firstly, because why am I wasting time watching this drivel?

And secondly, everyone in them has a perfect tan, perfectly fluffed abs, and literally zero ZERO flaws in their appearance (according to modern beauty standards, at least).

So I sit there, watching this shite, feeling fat and disgusting. Am I even worthy to be a member of the human race? I should probably buy something to make my cellulite go away, or I should crash diet to lose 10kg, or wear fake tan (lol), or workout so hard I pass out.

That’s probably the only acceptable conclusion.

Except of course it’s not. It’s fucking outrageous that these shows exist and make sensible (ish) adults feel this way, let alone what they’re doing to the heads of the kids who find them.

So here’s how I soothe this part of me, and how you can soothe this part of you, too: jump on your yoga mat and move. I don’t ‘workout so hard I pass out’, or do burpees forever. This isn’t movement because of your belly, your extra ‘fluff’, to lose weight, or to counteract that cake you ate yesterday. Make it movement because you bloody love yourself (just pretend if this is a challenge). For me, that’s a fluid, fun, challenging flow that reminds me I’m strong, I’m capable, I’m flexible, I’m beautiful, worthy of love, and can handle anything.

Even if you’re a beginner, yoga can do this for you, too. That’s the whole point.

If you’re not a member yet, come join me. Whether your goal is to lose weight, get fit, find flexibility, or just to navigate the challenges of the human condition, we got you.

Oh, and let’s not watch Selling Sunset anymore, yeah?
