How are you today? How are you REALLY? Like, deep down in your belly, right in your chest, floating up in your head—how do you feel?

Maybe today you’re feeling bright and shiny, and that’s amazing. Make sure to spread it around.

But maybe you’re just not. And it’s in these more challenging times when life doesn’t go our way that we need to remember that it’s okay. We’re okay. And that we might just need a bit of time-out.

Like after that drama you had at work recently, the fight with your partner, or that other thing frustrating thing that’s just popped into your head.

Our mission when we’re feeling down: can we flip our perspective? What can we learn from this challenging time? Can we allow ourselves to FEEL it instead of ignore it? And maybe—just maybe—we can come out the other side feeling better BECAUSE of it.

When I’m feeling low, it’s a constant reminder to take some time out. Away from emails, my desk, even away from my mat sometimes. Yes, it’s easier said than done, but practice makes (imperfectly) perfect.

Same in our yoga practice, right? We’re not aiming for perfection, but to feel good. We’re not stepping on the mat to do yoga, but to feel it.

So being a good yogi, in my eyes, means listening internally not externally. So maybe adapt what your teacher tells you, don’t prioritise depth in your practice but the sensation, and definitely DEFINITELY unfollow any yogi on social media who makes you feel less-than.

In the meantime, pancake-flip your perspective on that thing, friend, and see if you can feel a bit better. You’re not alone in dealing with crap. Come join our inner circle for free classes, exclusive resources, and inspiration for your most joyful life.
